115 Broadway: 100 Years in 100 Minutes!

Arts and Music

A fast and fun history of musicals presented in two acts, from their origins in Burlesque and Vaudeville, through Broadway’s recent rebirth in television shows like “Hairspray Live” or “Empire.” Loaded with ultra-rare video and audio clips, we’ll look at how musicals have both led the history of popular music throughout the last century… and adopted every one of its greatest innovations. If you haven’t enjoyed his popular “Big Music in the Movies” presentation at the Naro, don’t miss this event. We were discussing “Hamilton” two years before the rest of the country! So, come spend your evening with Chris, Music Professor at Elizabeth City State University, who grew up in New York City going to see shows on the “Great White Way.”
