127 50 YEARS OF BROADWAY: FROM HAIR TO HAMILTON

Arts and Music

A fast and fun history of the last half-century of musical theater. In 1968, Hair revolutionized Broadway with an infusion of undiluted pop culture. From bust to boom, from the British invasion to jukebox musicals, we’ll look at how musicals both lead the history of popular music… and adopt every one of its greatest innovations. Loaded with rare video and audio clips, let Dr. Palestrant show you why he was named a University of North Carolina Board of Governor’s Teacher of the Year. One presentation only, so be sure to say, “I’m not throwing away my shot!”
